Houses

The house system at Kegs is probably slightly different to the one at your primary school.  There are 4 houses mastered by teachers.  But there is 1 sixth former who's almost like a house captain and 2 or 3 that assist, like vice captains.  There are house assembly every Tuesday morning and the captains choose what is said.  A typical house assembly would be notices and maybe a funny reading( well in Mildmay anyway)!  Sometimes there are special competitions such as the inter-house dance off or match reports from house competitions.
The way to score points for your house is only in house competitions but not for doing good work, like your primary school probably is.  The houses are Mildmay(my house, THE BEST!), Holland , Strutt and Tindal.  Mildmay are probably the best overall( and that's not bias!), Tindall are good at Acting and Music, whereas Holland are good at Sport.  Unfortunately Strutt aren't good at anything so try and avoid them!  The way you get put into your houses isn't quite like Harry Potter but it isn't random.  According to your Surname's first letter you will go in a certain house.  If your Surname begins with 'A' then you will be in Holland, etc.  The first 28 people, with the highest first letters, of their surname will be in Holland, the next 28 will be in Mildmay, then Strutt and then Tindall.  But there are quite a few exceptions to this so you might not go where you expect.
The house competitions include big events such as Drama, Music and Sports Morning.

And smaller events such as yr football, rugby, junior cross country and even things like chess.  Drama, music and sports morning are bigger events because they include Juniors and Seniors.  Competitions such as drama and music are judged and obviously, for things like football the winners get most points.
In year events there are usually 'A', 'B' and 'C'.

So now you know how points are gained and what house you might be in, when you come to KEGS you can start earning points for your team and especially MILDMAY!
